Is it okay for an eight year old boy to sleep in the same bed with a friend at a sleepover?

My grandson had a neighbor stay over. I made a bed on the floor for the friend and my grandson slept in his queen sized bed. In the middle of the night, the friend got into the bed with my grandson. My husband thinks this is wrong.

Is it okay for an eight year old boy to sleep in the same bed with a friend at a sleepover?
They're just little kids, he's worried about nothing.
Reply:I would suggest not letting the boys sleep in the same bed. I know everyone likes to think that kids are innocent at this age (and most are) but they are also curious.


Now, I'm not saying to yell at them or make them feel ashamed, but gently tell them that it would be better to sleep on their own. Even better, set up two separate beds on the floor.
Reply:I highly doubt that such an action is anything sinister at age eight. So yes, it is fine. The kid was just probably uncomfortable in the floor bed and saw room on the real one, or seeking comfort in an unfamiliar house at night. It's little kids, nothing wrong with it.
Reply:They are just kids sleeping on the mattress equivalent of the Queen Mary. For the child sleeping on the floor, the temptation to sleep in an actual bed would be great, as it is far more comfortable to sleep in a bed. Your husband has perverted a practical issue.
Reply:it is totally fine because they are only 8 years old and dont knoow what "wrong" means. If you didnt feel comfortable with them sleeping in the same bad you should just have them both sleep in sleeping beds on the floor.
Reply:It's horrible to have to think twice before answering this question but nowadays anything happens. Just go with your parental gut feeling. You'll know what to do, but also you know what they say, better to be safe than sorry!!!
Reply:Your husband is being silly. They're just little kids, there's nothing wrong for two kids to want someone there so they don't get scared. They don't know what they're doing, they're just following instinct.
Reply:if his friend is around the same age and isn't a girl its absolutely fine.they're still kids.but if its a girl..well thats different.u know kids these days..you don't know what they learn.
