The dad did not marry Ava but married the older lady he picks on all of the time. A forshadowed and that did not work out and he moves back in. Now Kevin James finds out that she did not get rid of the apartment and he said he wanted a divorce. While arguing, she got a call from China and said they have a baby to adopt. They both wanted custody and raced to the airport. They made up on the plane. When they got to their hotel, she took a pregnancy test and she was positive. So they forshadowed to a year later and they were trying to take care of their own child and the adopted one. It was not really that great of a finale.
