How long does it take a 6 month old to transition to his crib?

My baby has been sleeping through the night by himself since he was about 4 months old (in the guest room bed - queen size pillow top, lucky boy!). However, since he is getting closer to being able to roll over, I thought I should try to transition him into sleeping in his crib. We've been trying for about 1 1/2 weeks, and he is still waking up every few hours! I'm tempted to just put him back in the queen size bed with a bunch of bed rails and pillows!!!

Tough love, teach that baby to sleep in his crib!!! It usually takes about 2 weeks SO...you're almost there. Trust me, you want him to sleep in the crib. It's the best and safest place for him.
Reply:Don't go in his room when he wakes up. 1-2 nights of crying and he'll be back to sleeping through the night in no time. I know it's hard, but it works...and it is not bad for the baby despite what some other people will inevitably post. It worked like a charm for us...
Reply:You need to suffer through the move. A pillow top is certainly not recommended for an infant to sleep on at any stage...too soft. And if you keep him on a regular bed, certainly the railings are a good idea but the pillows are extremely dangerous. A baby can easily suffocate on a soft bed, or with pillows. You need to work through it. I know nights without sleep are tough, but your child's safety needs to take precedence.
