I was playing poker the other night and I had a Queen of Hearts and a Queen of Clubs, when I laid them down?

the whole table reffered to the hand as Sigfried and Roy. I am new to poker so why? I have heard of Aces over 8"s being a dead mans hand but am I missing something on the Queens???
