I'm 16, last night I was at a street party and got a ticket for having an open bottle of beer.?

The party was Queen's University homecoming, and I was wondering if the ticket is a criminal offense and will I get a criminal record because of it.

Reply:Good. What is a 16 year old doing with a open beer? You will probably get public service. Things like cleaning the rest rooms in the county building etc.

Around here underage drinkers get tossed into a cell until their parents come pick them up.

Reply:open container in public of an alcoholic beverage is a misdemeanor, no difference in legality than a speeding ticket.
