What is the proper amount of sets of sheets a person should have per bed?

We have a king bed, a queen bed and a full size futon and a single blow up bed. I'm drowning in sheet sets. We sleep in the king bed every night. The queen is for guests and the futon and single are only used when we have lots of guests (not often). How many sets of sheets should I try to have per bed? What is the usual amount or proper amount.

It's a person preference, but I would have two sets of sheets for each bed. I found the best way to store the ones not being used that may help you. After folding the set, slide both the sheets and one pillow case into the other pilllow case. You have everything in a bag, and it stores nice and flat so you can stack. Keep the other sets on the bed with a dryer sheet or two in the ones rarely used and they stay nice and fresh smelling for your guests.
Reply:2 sets is a good #. 1 on and 1 just in case.
Reply:I would have 2 sets of sheets for the king since it's your everyday bed. Put the second set on the bed when the first set is in the laundry.

For the remaining beds one set of sheets per bed should work. Personally, I would keep the queen made up for unexpected guests. The single could be made up, too. That way you will only have 2 sets of sheets in your linen closet: the one that is not currently on the king bed and one for the futon.

If you are hesitant to downsize to that extent you can store the sheets sets for the queen and single guest beds between the mattress and box springs of the respective bed. Keeps the linen closet freed up, at least. Or store the extra linens in the closet of the guest room.
Reply:good question i wish i knew the answer but im curious....i wonder the same thing about towels!!!
Reply:I would't invest in more than two/three sets for everyday use. Too much of an investment when you change decor. One set for the seldom used beds.
Reply:Personally I would only have one set of sheets per bed. I don't think you need to have a closet full of sheets.... that would be unnecessary. Because you wash %26amp; dry sheets during the day when you're not using them anyways.
Reply:Two sheets per bed - one fitted and one flat.
