Did anyone see the King of Queens episode last night where Doug became a vegan?

Although it was hilarious, it certainly had a bit of reality to it. He went from being a happy go lucky blue collar fun loving slob to a pompous self riteous as*hole as soon as he became a vegan, looking down with contempt at anyone who did not see things as he did. Golly gee guys, he was a lot like some of the arrogant vegans that troll about within this forum. Perhaps if MOST of you were not so full of yourselves and accepted the fact that the lifestyle choices of others also have validity, maybe normal people from mainstream society would not be so quick to dismiss you and your ideals as merely the rants of a nutritionally deficient mind.

What do you think folks?

NOTE: And although you will still accuse me of being a meat eater, I have actually been a vegetarian for quite some time.....

Did anyone see the King of Queens episode last night where Doug became a vegan?
You would probably call me a self-righteous, preachy, neoludite, vegan since I never watch television at home. I didn't see it. I also didn't see the episode on "Girlfriends" in which Kim Field's character was depicted as a crazy overbearing vegetarian. I did happen to see the episode of wife-swap that depicted a vegan as crazy. I also saw the episode on "Two Men and Half". These two programs featured the same story line at the same time:

9:00 p.m while I was on the treadmill at the gym. Can't Hollywood producers find any original story lines. Your post really makes me Nostalgic for Seinfeld, Kramer, and Mad About You. Have meat-eating producers lost their creativity?

BTW- It's refreshing to see you ask an actual question instead of trying to write a parable. Good for you. Here's a star for your efforts.
Reply:**** doe boy fresh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Many people really hope to help others..yes "we" can tend to be pushy. But there is a human responsibility to help others. Many of us are under the belief what we do here on earth "COUNTS". That includes saving someones life, health %26amp; from future pain of a horrible preventable illness. Sure if it also makes our lifestyle more earth or animal friendly ~ GOOD, but the key is what other human benefits?
Reply:Everyone acts that way at some point in time, for some reason. Can you honestly tell me you have never acted a bit self-righteous and felt that you were better than someone else, for whatever reason? I admit that I have. Even poor white trash from the Ozarks will look down upon their neighbors because they are poorer or they are a different race or they take baths every month instead of every week. It's just human nature.
Reply:What do I think? I think you must be beyond bored to make up such nonsense. I also think you've been reported.
Reply:there are always going to be extremists be it religion, politics, veganism, whatever. if what your questions were doing was changing that, i'd be fine with it. but they aren't and its really getting annoying. can't you stop??please?
Reply:Can't say i've met any vegan that come across as arrogant nor full of themselves. Nor do i suspect they are nutritionally deficient. Most seem very passive caring people to me.

I meet about 5,000 vegetarians and vegans every year in our Veggie guest house. How many do you met, lets compare shall we ?

Is probably true that some vegans are passionate and immovable about thier beliefs, just like meat-eaters, train spotters, golfers, fishermen, motorsport enthusiasts and ever interest group in the world.....Its easy to find people that don't exhibit model behaviour, doesn't mean we have to dismiss then all as one.

Harold Shipman was a Christian, guess they should all be locked up eh ? Its obviously a religion for murderers.

If they are all such horrible arogant people why did you go to the vegan conference in Saratoga ? Oh no, wait, that was just one of your random stories wasn't it.

Doeboyfresh, you are right, you answered with your answer in another question. So, you've got it wrong twice now !!

Please know the difference between a veggie and vegan, why interchange the words ?
Reply:Maybe if people where more open-minded and did not jump to conlusions and become defensive about their lifestyle choices and post rude offensive questions in a cheap attempt to insult vegans we would not have to upset you with our answers to your stupid questions. I have a question for you. Why is a meat eater in a vegetarian/ vegan section of this forum anyways? Oh, wait I already know, because he thrives off insulting vegans and trying to belittle them because he feels inadequately threatened by people who have the will power to make a justified decision to eat more humanely and healthier than you. I'm saying this as a mature adult and not an "arrogant vegan" so stop being an arrogant meat eater and trying to upset us with your childish antics. Have a great day.
Reply:Haven't seen it but have heard about it %26amp; your description backs up what I've heard elsewhere. Doug's behavior is typical of a TV vegetarian-- over-zealous, misguided %26amp; happilly chomping on flesh by the time the episode's over. Ever notice which corps sponsor most of these shows?
Reply:hi nice guy, no l missed that-but yea-we should all chose what we wish to eat- l myself eat fish- also meat sometimes- l only try to keep to a good vegetarian diet when possible -due to health issues with my body- love to hear your points anyway- keeps us on our toes- good luck.xx
Reply:I totally see where you are coming from, I know plently people like that in my own life. I just don't always know how to grant validity to people when their only defense is 'We've been doing it for years" We've been smoking tobacco and alcohol for years as well.
Reply:I saw that last night! and what you said is exactly how i answered a question on here! once he has the "veggie" lifestyle, he becomes so snobby and full of himself and looks down on others!

you can basically interchange the words b/c both types have the same arrogant attitude.

Thank god for the "leaning tower of pizza burger" hahah, the bottom bun is a mini pizza!!
